What's the difference between a watch dog and a guard dog?
Unlike some Civil Dogs, who sometimes require months and even years of training hours, such as a Military or police dog, the watch / guard dogs such as a well bred European Doberman won't need specialized training to do their job, a well bred Doberman performs these jobs by instinct.
Watch Dogs bark and alert their owners of a perceived danger.
Guard Dogs will also bark at an intruder just like the watch dog, but they will also BITE the intruder!
Unique European Dobermans work and thrive on trust and instinct, their only desire in life is to always be with their human and protect their owner from the “bad guys”.
Our Unique Dobermans are brave and bold enough to not only alert like a watch dog, but will have enough courage to actually engage the intruder.
This will give you the Doberman owner time to either secure a weapon, call the police for help or leave the premises.
You cannot just leave a loaded weapon lying all around the house, especially if you have untrained young children, but you can have a well behaved Doberman with you and your family at all times doing the very job it has been bred to do.
A strong and protective Doberman will require extensive socialization and training for obedience and control as a puppy, but when they grow up you can expect your trained Doberman to stand it's ground against all threats with the courage and determination to be able to eliminate them all on their own and without any commands from you.
The type of German and European Working Doberman that we breed and raise needs a lot of socialization in all sorts of different scenarios so they can learn to read and understand other humans behaviour, what is normal human behaviour and what is perceived as a threat.
A well bred European Working Doberman will learn, if exposed as a young puppy, to read humans just like a Border Collie reads sheep.
